Drs. Terence Lau and Casey Lau are certified providers of Lumineers® in Northridge, California. These ultra-thin veneers are designed to mimic the natural appearance of your tooth enamel to provide you with a beautiful, long-lasting result. We invite you to call Mid-Valley Dental Care at 818-435-6928 to learn more about Lumineers and make your appointment with our dentists.
Lumineers are a special type of dental veneer, designed to be thin enough to be bonded to the surface of your teeth without grinding down any of your original tooth structure. This makes your treatment more comfortable, as well as ensures that there is no sensitivity following placement. Because there is no drilling, acrylic temporaries, or injections involved, your Lumineers should feel comfortable and natural from the moment our dentists place them on your teeth.
Our dentists may recommend Lumineers if you have one or more of the following:
• Stained or discolored teeth
• Chipped teeth
• Unwanted gaps or uneven spacing
• Misshapen or too-short teeth
• Aged dental work, such as a crown or bridge
• A smile that is not quite to your liking
If you receive Lumineers, you will need to schedule two visits with our dentists over a two-week period. At the first appointment, we will create a mold of your teeth and determine the proper shade of white for your Lumineers. The mold will then be sent to a lab. When you return for your second appointment, usually a few weeks later, our dentists will carefully and painlessly bond your Lumineers to your teeth. We take special consideration of your bite to ensure your teeth fit together well and do not feel uneven. You will not require anesthetic, and we will not need to grind down any of your existing tooth structure. The bonding procedure will take about an hour.
In addition to correcting your crooked and discolored teeth, your Lumineers are extremely durable, and can last for more than 20 years.
