Dental Care for the Whole Family

No two families are exactly alike when it comes to dental health. Family dentistry provides personalized dental care to suit your family’s unique dental needs. At Mid-Valley Dental Care, we treat each member of your family individually, taking into consideration their age, dental hygiene practices, and current oral health. Drs. Terence, Casey, and Kayla Lau treat patients of all ages, making it easier to meet all your family’s dental care needs.

What does general family dentistry involve?

The primary role of general dentistry is to maintain your healthy smile for life. General dentistry prevents diagnoses and treats oral issues to keep your teeth and gums healthy. A general family dentist cares for patients of all ages, from 1 to 101! Family dentists understand the dynamic oral health needs at every life stage. So, whether it’s your baby’s first dental appointment or your grandma’s need for restorative work, you can entrust your dental care to a family dentist.

What services does a general family dentist offer?

Family dentists offer comprehensive dental care, ensuring you and your loved ones enjoy dental care in one convenient location.

Family dentistry services include:

  • Preventive dentistry: We offer routine dental cleanings, oral exams, oral cancer screenings, etc., to protect your smile from oral infections, tooth decay, bad breath, and other issues.
  • Pediatric dentistry: We provide dental care to children as young as 12 months to lay a solid foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
  • Orthodontics: Our services include ortho screenings and orthodontic treatments with Invisalign and braces.
  • Restorative dentistry: We understand damage and decay can happen even to the most well-maintained smiles. Our restorative services include fillings, crowns, bridges, and implants.
  • Cosmetic dentistry: Do you want more than a healthy-looking smile? Rediscover your attention-grabbing smile with our cosmetic dentistry. We transform smiles with teeth whitening, dental bonding, Invisalign, veneers, and other treatments.

At what age should my child visit a dentist?

Your child’s first dental appointment should be within six months after the first tooth comes in and no later than one year. Afterward, your child should see us every six months. Early pediatric visits help us monitor your child’s oral development and growth. This way, we can detect and treat oral issues early before they become significant.

Is family dentistry expensive?

Dental care can be expensive, but we don’t want money to prevent you from enjoying your healthiest smile. We accept numerous dental insurance plans, but we understand not everyone has insurance coverage.

Don’t have dental insurance? Or has your coverage run out? Don’t stress! We offer third-party financing through CareCredit and Lending Club to ensure you manage your payments with budget-friendly installments.

How often should I see a family dentist?

Frequent dental screenings aren’t just for children—adults also need oral wellness visits. The standard is to visit your dentist every six months. However, not all patients are created equal. If you have a history of gum disease, tooth decay, or other problems, the dentist will recommend dental visits every 3-4 months. Frequent dental check-ups help with prevention and early detection of oral problems.

Is there a trusted family dentist in my area?

Family dentistry is convenient. It ensures that all your family’s dental needs are cared for in one location by familiar faces, saving you time by simultaneously scheduling your whole family’s appointments.
