What is gum recession?
Gum recession is the loss of gingival tissues along the gum line. It can occur from aging, aggressive tooth brushing, and genetics, but the leading cause is periodontal disease. When left to thrive, gum disease attacks the gum-supporting ligaments, causing the gums to pull away from the teeth. Gum recession causes more than aesthetic concerns. The exposed roots cause tooth sensitivity and increase the risk of decay and periodontal disease.

Introducing chow pinhole, gum rejuvenation. Pinhole surgical technique before conventional gum grafting required cutting tissue from the roof of the mouth. The gum is then cut over the area of the recession and lifted the tissue from the palate is placed over the recessions. Once complete, su hold the graft in place during healing. Now with the new revolutionary chow pinhole gum rejuvenation gum recession is corrected without cutting or stitches. This new process begins with the tiny entry point that is made in the gum. Then a special dental instrument is placed through the pinhole to free the gums with gentle movements. Once free, the gums are guided down into a healthy position When the recessed gums are corrected, tiny collagen strips are placed inside to help stabilize the gums incredibly. The pinhole heal rather quickly and often overnight when complete, the receding gums are corrected with a minimally invasive treatment that is quick, easy, and instantly pleasing.
What is the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST)?
Traditional gum grafting involves taking healthy tissue from another body part (like the palate) and suturing it to the receded area. Over time, the graft tissue fuses with the existing gingival tissues to achieve a fuller, aesthetically appealing gum line. While traditional gum grafting works, comparable results are achievable with PST.
PST is a minimally invasive treatment for gum recession. For PST, the dentist gently repositions the existing gum tissue over the exposed areas using small pinholes made in the gums. Your treatment doesn’t use scalpels, sutures, or grafts. It simply involves repositioning the existing tissues.
What can I expect from the procedure?
Every patient is different, so your procedure starts with a consultation. We’ll examine your gums to determine your eligibility for PST. If so, the dentist will numb your gums with local anesthetics to ensure a painless experience. Sedation dentistry is also available upon request to ensure you enjoy next-level comfort.
The dentist creates a tiny pinhole on the gums, usually 2mm long. The number of pinholes depends on the number of teeth being treated. The gum tissue is carefully loosened and repositioned using specialized instruments to cover the receded areas. Once the gums are in the desired position, collagen strips are placed to help stabilize and support the tissue—no sutures are required! This technique ensures a minimally invasive and effective approach to treating gum recession.
