Discover Cutting-Edge, Radiation Free Diagnostics with NIRI Technology at Mid-Valley Dental Care

At Mid-Valley Dental Care, our mission is to elevate your dental experience using the latest dental technologies. We are thrilled to introduce the iTero Element 5D intraoral scanner, featuring the revolutionary Near-Infrared Imaging (NIRI) technology. This innovative tool enhances our ability to provide precise, comfortable, and radiation-free diagnostics, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

What is an iTero 5D scanner?

It’s an advanced digital imaging technology that allows dentists to achieve remarkable diagnostics and treatment outcomes. An iTero scanner creates highly detailed 3D digital impressions of your teeth and gums. Unlike traditional digital scanners, the iTero 5D scanner can visualize the internal tooth structure. Its near-infrared imaging (NIRI) technology can detect cavities and cracks before they become visible in X-rays.

How long does a scan with the iTero 5D scanner take?

Do you remember how traditional molds worked? If not, it involves biting and holding a tray of gooey material for several minutes. Although it worked, the procedure wasn’t perfect. The process often required retakes if the patient moved or the material wasn’t set properly.

iTero technology has revolutionized how we take impressions. You can visualize a full mouth in real time! The scanner’s speed and efficiency allow for a quicker diagnostic and treatment planning process.

When is it used?

We have integrated the iTero 5D scanner into our treatments, elevating your experience on almost every level. Experience the power of iTero technology in the following areas.

  • Orthodontic treatment: The iTero scanner captures precise digital impressions for Invisalign treatment. This technology can simulate treatment outcomes, allowing patients to visualize their new smiles before starting treatment.
  • Diagnostics: Its NIRI technology detects interproximal cavities (those between teeth) without traditional X-rays, making it an invaluable tool in diagnostics. We also use it to track changes in your oral health.
  • Restorative dentistry: The scanner creates digital impressions for crowns, bridges, veneers, and other restorations, improving fit and accuracy.
  • Patient education: Its visuals make it easier for patients to understand their oral health and treatment plans, improving communication and decision-making

What are the benefits of an iTero 5D scanner?

Here are the reasons why the iTero 5D scanner is indispensable in dentistry.

  • Enhanced diagnostics: We can detect interproximal cavities, cracks, and other issues in real-time.
  • Outcome simulator: Imagine the ability to see your results even before treatment starts! The iTero Element 5D scanner provides visual simulations of treatment outcomes, helping you understand what you can expect from your treatment.
  • Patient education: The iTero technology has introduced a new era of patient engagement. It helps us show you what we see and highlights any changes in your oral health. Digital scanning improves treatment acceptance and compliance.
  • Speed: iTero digital scans are visualized in real-time, facilitating faster turnaround in dental treatments.
  • Comfort: Taking your bite impressions no longer involves gag-inducing messy substances. The iTero Element 5D scanner uses a small, handheld wand to capture 3D scans of your teeth. It’s comfortable, making the experience smoother for the dentist and the patient.

Is the iTero 5D scanner radiation-safe?

The iTero 5D scanner is radiation-free. NIRI technology provides high-quality visualization with zero radiation exposure.
